CUT40C Plasma cutter with S45 torch Autopilot (lp)
CUT40C Plasma cutter with S45 torch Autopilot (lp)
The CUT40C is self-starting (Autopilot), so it is not necessary to first make contact with the workpiece to be cut. Paint and dirt are no problem. This machine is also suitable for CNC machines, copy cutting machines, etc.
This machine is equipped with an S45 torch. This torch starts better than a standard PT31 torch and is better protected for the user when replacing the wearing parts. Furthermore, this machine is autopilot starting. In contrast to standard machines that start high-frequency, the machine does not emit a high starting voltage, which can be harmful to electronics.
Plasma cutting in general: Source Wikipedia: Plasma cutting is a cutting technique using a plasma cutting machine (plasma cutter) for cutting sheet metal using plasma.
The plasma is generated with an electric arc. A cut made with a plasma cutting machine is rounded at the top, which often requires post-processing before finishing. A plasma cutting machine consists of a power source, nozzle, ground cable, power supply wire and pressure line.
An inert gas or compressed air is injected through the nozzle at high speed via the pressure line, while at the same time an arc is generated in the gas or compressed air between a tungsten electrode and the workpiece, converting part of the gas into plasma.
The plasma is sufficiently hot (30,000 °C) to melt and partially sublimate the metal and has sufficient velocity to blow away the molten metal. The arc is ignited with a high-frequency ignition and transformed into a jet at the mouth by a generally copper insulated and water-cooled nozzle.
Some systems use a lift arc ignition for ignition, such as is also used in TIG welding. The electrode is placed on the workpiece and a weak current is generated that cannot damage the electrode. The gas pressure pushes the electrode upwards and ignites the arc. At the same time, the current is increased electronically until the cutting strength is reached.
A 40 amp plasma cutter is strong enough to cut through 10mm of steel.
Make sure that the plasma cutter loads the entire power group at maximum power. If more power consumers are connected to this power group, the fuse may blow.
